Morning Poem, February 2, 2022

(I actually wrote this one a long time ago, but I remembered it lately and, after all, it is Groundhog Day, so let’s do it again.)

The people of Hot Springs, Arkansas

Don’t have no cares about nothin’ at all

Don’t know what’s in the water; don’t know what’s in the air

Just feel better when we stay up there

.

All the girls wear dresses and the men wear hats

Don’t nobody say nothin’ about that

They wear their nice clothes every day

And go to church and sing and pray

.

The people of Hot Springs, Arkansas

Don’t have no cares about nothin’ at all
