Morning Poem, June 24, 2020

If I could seize a day

I would capture this one

With its gigantic white clouds

Drifting in the sun

And no clock ticking

And in the afternoon a breeze

A faint taste of heaven

That wakens memory

I hear the saxophone and piano

Stream melody and chords

From a window down the lane

And wish that the song

Would go on forever.
