It has been a while since I have posted any new writing on my “Out In The Country” blog, so a few words of introduction are again in order. That blog is a novel in progress. Today’s post is a continuation of a conversation between a father and son about a girl that the boy has an interest in. In a prior chapter, we see the boy act rather heroically to get the girl – with whom he is barely acquainted – out of trouble. The boy acts – effectively – to ameliorate an immediate threat to her. After that, he has a conversation with his father about the situation he is in, and what he should do. If you want to read the whole conversation, read Chapter VIII and then today’s post – “Chapter IX.” If you want the back story that the conversation is about, then back up and read Chapter IIV, too.
