Where could all this light have come from?
It’s the light of diamonds and it sparkles on the new buds
At the tips of the branches.
This is not the same old light
Even the songbirds act surprised
As they bathe in it; as it prisms through their spread wings
This light comes from somewhere else
A place where happiness floods like music in a hall
And all are well and strong and in love.
Go outside. Go now
And breathe this in
Take a taste and wonder where it comes from
Fill your heart
Before it is gone
And we return to our same, old planetary orbit.
