Afternoon Poem #5, August 27, 2016

We’ll go out again tonight

The two of us

It will be like old times

I will thrill to the sight of you

And be content in your presence

Happy by your side

We’ll find something to do

Maybe a restaurant

Maybe a park

Where we’ll sit or walk

And hope that someone nearby

Plays Billy Stewart “I Do Love You”

Or Brian Wilson’s “Warmth of the Sun”

Just like the whole world was ours.
