Time and Memory

He can’t remember where he laid his glasses
But play one note from any Stevie Wonder Song
And he’ll name it and tell you where he was when he first heard it
Forty years ago (And he’ll be right)
And how it sounded like some soundtrack of life
And told his own story
When it played at the dance or after the ballgame
Or on the car radio
Or at that little place in town
That nothing can ever replace
And why is it that now
The hours vanish in a blink
How can it be that so many years have gone by
Without another such song
