morning poem, april 2, 2016

Stars turn above
Grass grows beneath the warm moon
All is silent but for the quiet murmur
Of the car that glides down our avenue
Headlights disappearing as it drops over the hill.

We no longer burn the candle at both ends
But we still burn the candle
We still light the fire.

Sleep comes easy here.
