evening poem, march 20, 2016

You can change your brain
That’s what the doctors say now
It’s just like a muscle and can increase its strength
Through exercise.
Can you imagine?
You remember the skinny guy in high school
Who found his way to the gym years later
And saw some results and stuck with it
And now bench presses four hundred pounds
What if you could change your brain that way
They say that you can do it
You are not stuck with what you have
You could brain press four hundred pounds
If you do the right things
And stick with the process.
Who wouldn’t do this if they believed it?
