Mid-day poem, January 8, 2015

Give me one winter evening

Too warm for snow

Where all is grey

And no color on the road or in the sky

And where the day is slow and uneventful

And there is no news at all

I would be tired and ready for sleep, but for this:

There is a place, very old and out of the way

Where tonight dinner will be served

On white tablecloths

And a band will play Stardust

And my love and I shall dance once more.
