Christmas Day

Christmas is morning

bright and joyful.

.

In a living room strewn with opened boxes

and gifts of every description

A young boy meditates:

This is more than I expected

more than I asked for

and better, in every detail, than I imagined.

,

This is all for the moment.

,

Outside of the cave in Bethlehem

old prophets meditated:

This is more than we expected

greater than we ever dared to ask or think

and better, far better, in every detail.

,

And this is for eternity.
