Morning Poem, October 2, 2014

What if this whole darn thing was wrong?

Everything the TV told us.

What if they were singing that hypnotic song

Just so they could hold us;

Just so they could mold us?

I’m not talking about one mistake now and then

It’s twenty-four seven, then do it again.

Let me find the old music

And a story that’s true

Let me have rest

And let me renew.
